A Sunset Worth Waiting For
Some flights are memorable because of the view. Others are memorable because of everything that happens before the wheels ever leave the runway. Dan V.'s sunset tour, which he shared with us in a five-star review in June 2026, managed to be both.
Dan booked the flight as a birthday surprise for his girlfriend. Then the weather did what New Jersey weather sometimes does in the shoulder seasons, and the flight had to be rescheduled. Weeks passed. For a lot of people, that kind of delay quietly drains the magic out of a plan. What happened instead is the part of the story we're proudest of.

Why Rescheduling Is Part of the Job
We sometimes have to move flights for weather. A hazy, bumpy, low-visibility evening is not the skyline tour anyone signed up for. Waiting for the right sky is the difference between a flight you tolerate and a flight you talk about years later. Dan and his girlfriend got the second kind.
What Dan noticed — the names remembered, the birthday date remembered, the decorations waiting in the lounge — isn't a script. It's what happens when a small operation stays small on purpose. Ash runs the front of the house himself, and the details stick because there aren't hundreds of them competing for attention on any given evening.
What You See From the Cherokee
Our tours depart from Linden Airport in New Jersey, just minutes of flying time from Manhattan. In a Piper Cherokee PA-28 — a fixed-wing airplane, high-wing-free views out the side windows, and a cabin shared only with your pilot and your own party — the pace is different from a helicopter. It's quieter in feel, steadier, and it gives you time to actually look.
Guests see the Statue of Liberty standing in the harbor, the full run of the Manhattan skyline stacking up as you approach, the bridges threading the East River, and the way the low sun turns every west-facing window in the city into a sheet of copper. On a sunset flight, the light changes minute to minute. Nobody looks at their phone.
Dan also mentioned that his girlfriend took the controls for a stretch on the way back. That happens when conditions and the pilot's judgment allow, and it tends to be the moment people describe first when they tell the story later. Dan, for his part, mentioned finishing his PPL — proof that a sightseeing flight sometimes turns into something more.
